Our colleague, Kostas Kavvadas, successfully participated and finished the 10th Anniversary Athanaton Race on October 26-27, 2024. This ultramarathon, spanning 142 km, connects four iconic statues of Greek history: General Theodoros Kolokotronis (Tripoli), King Leonidas (Sparta), Emperor Constantine Palaiologos (Mystras), and the heroes of the Greek Revolution (Kalamata).
The route, which traverses the Taygetus mountain range, is known for its significant challenges and steep elevation changes. It honors the global Greek community and commemorates the historical legacy of our nation’s heroes. Kostas, with his unwavering spirit, managed to complete one of the most demanding ultramarathons, making us all incredibly proud.
A Message for the Future
This race marked the final competition for Kostas Kavvadas in 2024, closing the year on a high note filled with challenges and accomplishments. We wholeheartedly wish him good health and hope that 2025 brings new goals and achievements that will continue to inspire us all!
Kostas is a shining example of dedication, determination, and love for sports. Through such efforts, he honors not only himself but also all those who support the values of fair competition and the athletic spirit.
