Pavlos Simotopoulos is the new Executive Chef of Newrest Greece

 

Mr. Pavlos Simotopoulos, is joining Newrest Greece as the Executive Chef, supporting the Inflight and Catering business activity.

Mr. Simotopoulos has 26 years of professional experience in the field of HORECA & Food Industry services. For the last 15 years he has worked as an Executive Chef in top hotel chains in Greece and abroad such as Sofitel, Grecotel, Grace Hotels, Atlantica, Westin Chicago etc. In parallel and for the past 10 years he has been transferring his knowledge to the new generation of catering professionals as a lecturer in the field of Culinary Education, maintaining from 2018 a solid collaboration with BCA College, where he teaches F&B Management & Culinary Fundamentals. He is a Graduate of the Department of Culinary Arts, of Alpine Center, with an additional specialization in Management Education the US. Thanks to the above, the Chef has a rich knowledge of international gastronomy and especially of Greek, European and Mediterranean cuisines.

At Newrest, Mr. Simotopoulos will be responsible for the enrichment of the product range of all company business sectors, the creation of the new corporate and inflight menus, the conception of original gastronomic proposals for corporate restaurant theme events, the training of the Production department as well as the continuous renewal of the overall gastronomic offerings of the company.

It is no coincidence that his roots are from Istanbul where his great-grandfather, Pavlos, worked as a Chef in some of the most distinguished restaurants in the city. Two generations later, his love for gastronomy left its mark in the best way. His favorite quote often said to his students is “A recipe has no soul. We, as cooks, give the recipe its soul”.

The Chef’s creativity and enthusiasm for gastronomy, combined with Newrest’s diverse activity in the catering services, are a firm foundation for a successful and inspiring collaboration.
